The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is recruiting for the position of Research Officer with 3 vacancies. Candidates must hold a Post Graduation in History, Economics, or Social Sciences with a minimum of 55% to qualify. The age limit ranges from 21 to 42 years as of 01 August 2025.

Eligibility Criteria
- High Second Class (at least 55%) in Post-Graduation in History or Economics or Social Sciences (such as Anthropology, Geography, Philosophy, Political Science & International Relations, Psychology, Sociology) from a recognized university is compulsory.
- Preference of 10 marks in interview for candidates having at least two years of research work experience from a university or Government or Government-recognized Social Research Institute.
Experience
At least two years of research work experience (must be obtained by the advertisement publication date 27 January 2026). Experience certificate issued by Registrar/Deputy Registrar of recognized university or Director level of recognized Social Research Institute.

Selection Process
Preliminary Competitive Examination (Objective General Studies - 150 marks, 2 hours), Main Competitive Examination (General Hindi & General English - Qualifying 40 marks each, General Studies Paper-1 & 2 - 300 marks each, Optional Subject - 300 marks), Interview - 110 marks + 10 marks preference for research experience (Total 120 marks).
