During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be admissible to candidates. On successful completion of initial training, candidates will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (Rs. 21,700 – Rs. 69,100) with Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs. 5,200/- per month plus Dearness Allowance as applicable.
An examination fee of Rs. 550/- (Rupees Five hundred fifty only) plus 18% GST is to be paid by candidates during Stage I – INET application. The fee must be paid in online mode using net banking, Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card or UPI. Admit card will be issued only to candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee.

The selection process consists of Stage I – INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test) followed by Stage II (Physical Fitness Test, Written Examination and Recruitment Medical) and Pre-Enrolment Medicals. Stage I – INET is a computer-based examination with 100 objective-type (multiple-choice) questions, each carrying 1 mark. The standard of Stage I question paper is that of 10+2, and syllabus and sample papers are available on the official website.
Candidates can apply online for Stage I – INET 2026 for SSR (MED) 02/2027 batch only through the website https://joinindiannavy.gov.in from 14 March 2026 (00:01 hrs) to 06 April 2026 (17:00 hrs).
