For SC/ST/Non-Creamy layer OBC/Differently abled candidates, the requirement at master level is 50%. Relaxation of 5% also applicable to Ph.D. holders who completed master degree prior to 19 September 1991. |
| III | A minimum of eight years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry, with a minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 75 as per Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Regulation No. F.1-2/2017(EC/PS), 18th July 2018. |

| Eligibility A (ii) | Besides the above, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar test (SLET/SET) accredited by UGC, OR hold a Ph.D. Degree awarded in accordance with UGC (M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments (with specified conditions). NET/SLET/SET shall be the minimum criteria for direct recruitment as per UGC Notification New Delhi, 30th June 2023. |
| Eligibility B | The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by QS, Times Higher Education (THE), or ARWU of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. |
