Surat Municipal Corporation is set to recruit 1000 Apprentices across 14 trades under the Apprentices Act 1961. Eligible candidates can apply online between 01 June and 10 June 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the provisions of this notification. Mandatory registration and eKYC update on the NAPS portal (https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) must be completed before applying on the SMC website. Candidates must apply only through the SMC official website after completing NAPS registration.

Selection Process
Selection for engagement of apprentices will be based on merit / document verification. No written examination has been announced. Final engagement is subject to verification of eligibility and documents as per the Apprentices Act, 1961.

How to Apply
Candidates must apply online only. Before applying, every candidate must mandatorily register as an Apprentice on the NAPS portal at https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, and update eKYC in the Apprentice profile. Only after completing both steps on the NAPS portal should candidates proceed to apply online at the SMC recruitment portal.
